Renowned journalist Arnab Goswami upset the cricket fans when he went on to question former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s nationalism. Goswami targetted Sachin after he expressed his view over the debate on India vs Pakistan World Cup match. Some feel the match should not be played, while Sachin is among those who feel it is silly to lose two important points in the World Cup. But Arnab seems to be highly disturbed with Sachin’s opinion.

The journo, in his show, said, “I don’t believe in any Gods. Sachin Tendulkar is 100 percent wrong. Sachin Tendulkar, if he has any sense, he should realize that he should be the first person to say that don’t play with Pakistan. (Sunil) Gavaskar should be the second person to say that don’t play with Pakistan. These people say that we need two points. Both are damn wrong. We don’t need two points. I want revenge for my martyrs. Sachin Tendulkar can take his two points and put it in the dustbin.”
Hashtag #ShameOnAntiNationals was trending on social media. Here, those who refused to boycott playing Pakistan in the World Cup were labeled as anti-nationals. “In this country, there are only two sides now. There are people, who are with India and people are against India. Those, who want to take the middle road, are against India because there’s no middle road,” Goswami added.

Some guests present in the show didn’t agree with Goswami and asked him not to call Sachin anti-national. Political analyst Sudheendra Kulkarni said, “You are calling Sachin Tendulkar anti-national. You call Sunil Gavaskar anti-national. I am ashamed of you.”
Kulkarni left the show and along with him even former AAP leader Ashutosh walked out.
Goswami in his defense said, “It is my fervent appeal to Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev. You should be the first to say that we should not go out and play cricket with Pakistan. Because this country has given you a lot.”
